Downfire system
Perfect deep bass
Downfire is a technique that is especially used in subwoofers. The loudspeaker emits its sound straight down in this situation. What would not work in in the mid-tone and treble ranges has a number of advantages in the bass range: As the subwoofer rests on permanently mounted feet, the precise distance from the nearest boundary surface, the floor, is known. This enables the subwoofer to be optimised for this and the SPL output in the bass range to be increased. In addition, the unavoidable emission of unwanted tones from the midrange are significantly reduced. The result is a high degree of efficiency and an optimum pulse response for a clean bass range.
