THE BEGINNINGS -GREAT IDEAS COME FROM FRUSTRATION

In the 1960s, Boyd and Haas partners imported Goodmans loudspeakers to build their own range. A few years later Rainer Haas, the son of a long line of loudspeaker manufacturers, took over the family business. By then, he was already frustrated by products that didn't meet his desire for modernity. In the early 1970s, he began selling a model called the "Goodmans Magnat", available only in Germany. The product was such a bestseller that Rainer Haas decided to use it to launch the MAGNAT brand. Magnat was officially founded in 1973, in Cologne, Germany.

Since the brand was founded in 1973, Magnat engineers have never stopped pushing the boundaries to develop high-quality products that sound good and provide emotion to their uses when they listen their music & movies.

For 30 years, every component of Magnat products has undergone an elaborate, multi-stage development process and testing in our laboratory in Pulheim, near Cologne, before we allow the product to go into production. Through meticulous attention to detail and dedication, our engineers ensure that every component and system they design meets the highest standards of precision and reliability.

MAGNAT UNIQUE TECHNOLOGIES

At Magnat, we develop our own loudspeakers to ensure that no compromises are made when it comes to sound, and that all the components in each loudspeaker are perfectly matched and harmonized.

With our Signature 1100 series, Hi-Res technology has entered our ranges. Our Hi-Res-certified double tweeters are now a Magnat Signature series standard, and future products will go even further with a triple Hi-Res tweeter.

Another special feature of Magnat's exclusive woofers is their aluminum ceramic cone. The aluminum ceramic cone ("CAC") is a development that considerably enhances sound reproduction. It is constructed as a "sandwich" with a central layer of aluminum (for flexibility and light weight) surrounded on both sides by ceramic (strength). It's a complex chemical process that delivers precise sound reproduction, low distortion and reduced vibration. But once again, Magnat engineers haven't stopped there. Future series will feature the new Magnat "3L" cone diaphragm with aluminum/magnesium alloy for even purer sound.
